Blue Foo Dog Pair

Classic vintage pair of foo dogs or foo lions, the traditional Chinese guardians of homes, temples and palaces, and bringers of prosperity and blessings.  In the traditional pairing, the male lion rests his paw on a globe, symbolizing dominion over the world and protecting the home; the female restrains a wriggling cub, representing nurture and safeguarding the people within the home.  Ceramic with a vivid turquoise-colored glaze.  Each measures 5.5"x 4" and stands 12.5" tall.
